NOBODY BUT US
Inspired by the song Miss Gradenko by the Grammy-winning band, The Police, Nobody But Us is a short film which explores a lover’s triangle in which not everyone is what they seem. A modern-day heiress aligns forces with her lover as she schemes to put an abrupt end to the abuses suffered via her current husband. In so doing, she sets in motion a swift decent into evil for the lover and a quiet coup d’etat for herself. Following the song’s mysterious lyrics as written by Stewart Copeland, Nobody But Us is a dramatization which imagines what the song might be about. The film’s dialogue is made up nearly entirely of these lyrics, the story told in sequence as the lines from the song are attributed to characters within the drama. The result is a telling which offers an homage to the original work while also creating characters that live outside the lines of the tune.
