I help founder-led and PE-backed companies scale operations without the cost of a full-time COO.
Nearly 30 years running operations, leading people, and building companies that had to actually deliver — not just look good on a slide. Six years as CEO, private and public. One company I built to a Nasdaq IPO. Now I bring that same operating discipline to founder-led and PE-backed businesses managing transitions or that have outgrown their systems but aren't ready for a full-time executive hire.
What I actually do
Some operational problems in a fast-growing company are strategy problems, some are "everyone is too overwhelmed to watch the machine" problems. I step in as your fractional COO: hands-on, embedded, and focused on the systems, cadence, and accountability that let you scale without everything running through you.
Fractional COO — ongoing operating leadership, structured as a fixed-term project or a monthly retainer, whichever fits what you're solving for.
Executive Coaching — for leaders navigating rapid growth: the new VP or first-time leader who just inherited a team that's scaling faster than they are.
Speaking — on scaling, operational leadership, and what actually breaks when companies grow fast.
Systems without leadership don’t work
Results and the work behind them aren't the same thing. I've watched leaders hit every number on the board and still hear "so what?" from the people they needed to move. Systems and dashboards matter — but they're not the whole job. The other half is leadership style, culture, values, communication, and a clear sense of purpose strong enough to survive contact with a hard quarter.
